No posts lately

WHY HAVE THERE BEEN
NO POSTS LATELY?

Frankly, there has been little to nothing which has caught my attention lately in relation to the subjects we usually discuss on the Flyswatter. I don't know Charles' whereabouts in recent days, so he will no doubt "account for himself" as to his own lack of posting in due course of time. As for me, I just simply haven't seen anything in recent days that would appear of interest to our readers, and I don't want to bore you with mere filler material.

The Flounders, for example, seem to be at a rather low ebb in recent days. Their National Conference was not up to expectations, Timmy Brister's move to Florida has evidently not been a 'picnic,' Tom Ascol has been hit by lightning (literally), and prayer is requested on his behalf for a quick recovery.

So there's not been much "inspiration" from the Flounders' current difficulties for us to post any comments about them.

The only "significant" thing I have noticed lately is that Ruckman -- who at nearly age 87 continues to be a leading entrepreneur for all manner of merchandise in "defending" the 1611 translators of the KJV -- is once again running for President. He also ran in 1992 and reportedly got "1611" votes.

I usually do not comment on your posts, but I thought that this was one of the most bitter and sarcastic things that I have ever read. Come on guys, is this really necessary?

You must be drunk on something. There was nothing "bitter and scarcastic" about it.

I think it would have shown some class, to have refered to the "Founders" by its given name, in light of this tragedy. Even if just for one post.

It futher would have been an excellent opportunity to express your personal concern for this BROTHER IN CHRIST as well, conisdering that you have some comment on just about everything that involves the personal ministry of Tom Ascol.

I don't recall any "personal" comments directed toward Tom Ascol. All I recall are comments pertaining to doctrinal matters.

We are always sympathetic with any affliction which befalls a fellow human being of our acquaintence, especially a Christian. None of us is exempt from trials and tribulations, and as Christians it is part of our "love for the brethren" to pray for others. Sooner or later, we all have our share of unsavoury experiences of one sort or another.

My use of the term "Flounders" relates to what has been explained before -- the "floundering" for which they have become "famous", which in no wise is representative of the Baptist "Founders" they allegedly represent. When they stop falsely claiming to represent those Baptist forefathers, we will cease referring to them as "Flounders."

Yes, Peter Ruckman does chalk drawings while preaching.
