Sunday School with James White
Poor James White. His nerves must be rattled. First, he goes on the Founders blog and in my opinion makes a fool of himself by asking the Caner brothers to debate him. He is backed by his worshippers, drunk on his "White Lightnin'," who call the Caners chicken. In their eyes, you ain't nothin' 'less you prove to James that you can hold your White Lightnin'.
The Caners find James more comical than courageous, and agree to a debate. Now it's White who looks chicken for running from Brother Bob Ross. White's worshippers delete all mention of his "Rossphobia," but that's another story.
By comparision, White knows little-to-nothing of Baptist history, so he asks Tom Ascol for help. Now to me that's like asking the grill boy at McDonalds for help in cooking prime rib. But I digress.
Ascol agrees, and then pulls out. Then saddles up again. Then Phil Johnson bleaches White out on the "Sovereign Grace" celebrity Reformed Calvinist cruise.
With all the excitement, what's James to do? Well, he does teach Sunday school in his tiny Reformed Baptist church, where he serves as an "elder."
I began to wonder. What's it like to have James White as a Sunday school teacher? So I looked on his church's web site.
On 5/14/06, the lesson title was: the Shabir Ali Debate.
On 4/30/06, the lesson title was: Debate Report.
On 4/23/06, the lesson title was: Debate Report.
On 9/12/05, the lesson title was: Debate Report.
Apparently, going to James White's Sunday school consists of frequent "reports" of James talking about his performance in his debates! I guess it works for the small number of people who go to James' church. But for me? No thanks.
James White: Color him egotistical. But then again, you already knew that, didn't you?

Spoken like a true coward! You have invite after invite to go on his show and you chicken out. Your actions are sinful to the core unless you are willing to confront the man you loathe. Talk about yellow....
Brad, Hello!
I have no interest in going on James' "show," raising his ratings, and providing him with possible additional monetary income.
James has posted here before and he can come back if he wants. Unlike James, I allow contrary views on this blog. You could not post your comments on James' blog, but you did here.
"Talk about yellow ..."? Why not ask James why he refuses to allow contrary posts on his blog?
Charles
Be a man Charles, your comments are so well ignorant. You bring his ratings up by your own ranting!
Why should he be the only man of courage and have to come to you - you need to read your Bible over such issues and go to him for all to hear because you have made this a public issue or should I say blog issue.
Just because you allow feed back doesn't mean every blog has to be handle the same.
Yellow is your middle name. You slander and judge but never deal with the person you do it to. You need to put up or shut up.
i am glad that i dont go to that sunday school class. wow! five pointers love to debate....dont they?

WHAT, NO PAY?

I wonder, Charles, why Brad thinks you should help lift James' sagging "Divining Line" audience without paying the laborer for his hire, yet my "sources" say that heretics are solicited and paid to go on cruises to debate with him?
Is Brad looking for a "hand-out" on James' behalf?
You know if you went on the show, James would be taping it and later probably marketing it in some type of "package." But what would you get out of it?
James is like Ruckman -- he is a crafty entrepreneur. Ruckman may have made thousands off of that one hour "Bible Forum" (VHS) of which I was the "star" back in the early 90s, yet I received no "royalties."
You watch and see if James does not do a similar thing with the Caner debate. He has enough sapsuckers who will be delighted to pay for a DVD of that debate.
Wonder if James will pay the Caners a "royalty"?
Brother Bob, Hello!
You said, You know if you went on the show, James would be taping it and later probably marketing it in some type of "package." But what would you get out of it?
It's amazing that James has convinced his worshippers that he is a "defender of the faith." Brother Bob, do you know of anyone who has left the Mormons, JWs, liberal Christianity, etc., and believed on Christ as Lord and Savior as a result of a debate with James White? I've looked on his web site, and I cannot find anyone.
Instead, what I found on his web site is "KA-CHING," the slick promotion and selling of his various debates. I wonder if James would be willing to post the financial records of his organization so we can see how much he rakes in with the sale of his debates.
No wonder James is always prodding and making fun of Hunt, Caner, Geisler, and the rest -- for every one he can prod into a debate, that translates into $$$$.
Do you think James' worshippers get a "cut" of the profits for helping James prod these guys into debating James? Has James entered into a financial agreement with his blogging worshippers?
James White: Color him green.
Charles
I get it, this is comedy, a spoof, silliness... like keystone cops? Hahhahhaha... ooohh you had me but it's just too stupid to believe.
I can imagine that some day the flyswatter is going to post,
"I watched James go to the bank today. He was really rude. But you guys already knew that."
Please find a lost person and share the gospel. It would be a much better use of your time.
volfan007,
you just can't handle the truth!
volsfan007,
the truth that "charles" is obsessed with James White and should find more productive things to do.
No, I've come to grips with that.
Charles,
I will say, I agree with your arguments about Mr. White. As a Catholic, he has had his share of debates with my fellow Catholics (and I believe has been defeated, although he is a good debator) However, reading thru your blog, I must say, you are the one making claims about him and about his character. It is not his job to come to you to prove you wrong. He should just ignore it (which he probably does). Since you are the one on the offense, you should bring your claims to him an allow him to defend himself. My 2cents for what thats worth
Charles
Would you be willing to talk to me regarding this brainwashing that seems to be happening.

charles,
God bless you for sharing the truth. some cant handle the truth and attack you anonymously. you are sharing things that are right on target about the people who believe in getting saved then they get saved, and about the baby baptisers, and about the five pointers. keep up the good work.
at the same time, i would encourage you to not get so obsessed with what they believe and fighting against the five pointers that you neglect your relationship with the Lord and your service for the King.

Proverbs 26:4 -
"Do not answer a fool according to his folly (i.e., sin like he sins), or you will also be like him."
Proverbs 29:9 -
"When a wise man has a controversy with a foolish man, the foolish man either rages or laughs, and THERE IS NO REST."
I extend these two Proverbs to my friends who see the folly of our friend Charles. Solomon talks about him. 1) Do not waste your time fueling his immaturity by letting his sladerous posts get to you; 2) If you do you will accomplish nothing but an increase in his "zeal" and the change in his thinking you are seeking will never happen! Don't waste your time.
If his name-calling and quarrelsome rhetoric are truly Spirit-filled service to God, then let him serve God alone.
Stop posting comments back to him. Let him be!
Charles, you can get my email by linking to my blog. Please, if you want to respond to what I said do so that way. I do not check your blog often, but I would like to hear from you. Please, if you must respond, and I assume you must, email me.
Charles, I am praying for your salvation.

Bob to Charles:
How it is, Charles, that you seem to attract the pious ones such as
"eron" and "anonymous" and I get the "Scott Morgan" and "Gene Bridges" verbose types?
Let me know, Charles, if you get saved, so I will know if "anonymous" has much "power in prayer."
As for the comment by "eron," wonder if he is an example of how to obey that Scripture?
You must at once heed Proverbs 26:4 - and STOP THIS SITE NOW!
You are speaking Truth to yourself Bob now heed it!

Bob to anonymous:
One of the few things on which I agree with Ruckman is what he calls "Lister Bag Therapy." He advises people like anon to "Go soak your head in a Lister bag."
That may help to unclog your brain.
