Pedo cloud over Flounders

THE DARK CLOUD OF PEDOISM
HANGS OVER THE FLOUNDERS

More and more, I am picking up the "signals" that many Southern Baptists are getting their "eyes opened" to the "Bapbyterianism" of the Flounders.

Some resent the fact that our Baptist forefathers, who suffered abuse and persecution at the hand of Pedos and are turning in their graves in disgust, are utilized by the Flounders, while the likes of Tom Ascol, Tom Nettles, R. Albert Mohler, and others hobnob with many of the "Reformed" ministers who represent the Pedobaptist cause.

The Pedo influence which was exerted on the Founder of the Flounders, Ernest Reisinger, hangs over Cape Coral headquarters like a heavy cloud. Ernie imbibed many Pedo elements in both theology and ecclesiolgy. He tried "reforming" a Baptist church in North Pompano, Florida to "reform" it into a "Bapbyterian" church, and today that church lies in ecclesiastical ashes.

I understand that Ernie's own brother, John, warned him against trying to turn a Baptist church into an "immersing presbyterian church," but Ernest failed to heed the warning. Ernie had a preference, primarily, for the faith and order of Pedo Iain Murray and Pedos.

Tom Ascol, who inherited Ernie's mantle, and other Flounders-Friendlies, likewise, are Pedo-Friendly, and they promote, in various ways, the Pedos. They exalt Pedo "theologians" who teach the "regeneration" of Pedo "covenant" babies in infancy, and the "born again before faith" heresy in adults. They peddle Pedo literature more than any other Baptist source, and they sponsor conferences at which Pedo speakers are often featured. In fact, Tom Ascol wasted $20,000 to mail a Pedo-dominated DVD to the Southern Baptist pastors in Florida, an item which teaches the "born again before faith" Pedo doctrine.

While Ascol is gearing up for another attempt to get a "regenerate church membership"-related resolution passed at the 2008 SBC annual meeting, he does not let "regenerate church membership" become an "issue" between the Flounders and hobnobbing with the Pedo churches who baptize unregenerate babies on the presumption that those babies are "regenerated."

Soon, we perhaps could be hearing that immersion is not required of Pedos who decide to join Flounders' churches. "Reformed" theology evidently can "cover a multitude of sins."

If Floundersism prevails in Southern Baptist churches, what we will have will be Bapbyterian churches!

Brother, I love the Flyswatter! Good articles! You are being a good "gadfly" too in stirring up our Baptist brothers against this wave of Presbyterianism, in a Baptist cloak, that is, sadly, connected with the Founders movement.

As I said, by Providence of God, I was put into such a church a few months ago and, as I said recently to you all, this church is now shattered into many pieces and the few that remain are the Arminians who have gone back to where they were! Oh this "quiet reformation" truly worked wonders!

God bless you Bob! Keep on keepinig on!

Amen to all you have been saying onn this!

Stephen

Brother Bob, Hello!

You said, More and more, I am picking up the "signals" that many Southern Baptists are getting their "eyes opened" to the "Bapbyterianism" of the Flounders.

Praise God! I'm seeing the same signs. Also, more and more people who want information on The Flounders are finding The Flyswatter where they can get "the rest of the story." No wonder we are the most hated, "unlinked to" blog in all of FlounderWorld!

When the deformed, er, Reformed bloggers make up 95% of Baptist blogs, it's easy to get a skewed view of things. There are now more brethern who are finding out that Tom Ascol, Tom Nettles, and friends are less historically accurate in their teachings than meets the eye.

Brother Bob, I thank God for you. Without you, the real Spurgeon would be lost to the misrepresentations of TomTom and Timmy. The real Spurgeon would be covered with WHITE-out. The truth about the Flounders origins and their pedo roots would be practically unknown.

Thank you for all that you do!

Charles

It's true, Charles, when I have gone to some of the Hybrid blogs, I have seen many of the same links on these blogs. From these links, I see who is probably in the Intenet Hybrid "sect."

But even without being linked, some folks learn of the Flyswatter thru the Search Engines. While some Hybrids, like Gene Bridges, have called on their followers to boycott the Flyswatter, they are not altogether successful. When some attacks against the Flyswatter are linked on the Search Engines, it "backfires" on our critics, for people become curious about what is being posted here and they pay a visit to find out.

I agree. I think that if the day ever comes when the "swatter" becomes more inclusive and formal then the balance will definitely become shifted away from the Calvinist geeks who fill hyperspace with their nonsense.

There are, unfortunately, a plethora of sites which spew the views of Augustine of Hippo or Calvin rather than Scripture.

The only thing that's totally depraved is their mental state.

FLOUNDERS' ORIGIN

The Flounders would at least give some respectability to themselves if they changed those photos on their blog.
Remove those Baptists whom they do not really represent, and put up photos of the following:

Ernest Reisinger
Iain Murray
Louis Berkhof
Tom Nettles
Tom Ascol
Bill Ascol
Fred Malone

These, I think, may more appropriately be called the "Founders." I think Murray and Berkhof should be there due to the influence of their Hybrid Calvinist theology on the Flounders.

In fact, they might want to put photos of Pedos R. C. Sproul and Martyn Lloyd-Jones up there, too, since Ernie Reisinger cites their influence on his theology (Ernest Reisinger, A Biography, page 217).

Iain Murray belongs there, if for no other reason than he "fathered" the anti-invitationalism for which the Flounders have become so well-known.
